Remember the Bluey episode where Bluey and her little sister Bingo turn the living room into a pretend restaurant so Mum and Dad can have a romantic night? Real families have now done the very same thing, and the results are heading to Disney+.

Bluey Fancy Restaurant, a short live-action series inspired by that beloved episode, is scheduled to arrive on Disney+ on Monday, November 16, 2026. Disney’s official November schedule lists Season 1 as a premiere with all episodes streaming at once, and both Scary Mommy (October 28, 2026) and the UK site Geektown (October 30, 2026) include it in their November highlights. As with any release, dates can change, so check the Disney+ app that week.

What Is the Show About?

The idea is simple and sweet. The official Bluey website describes it this way: kids “become chefs, waiters, and decorators” to “create romantic date nights for Mum and Dad.”

Scary Mommy sums it up as real-life children who cook and decorate romantic dinner dates for their parents. Geektown says the episodes feature themed menus and creative touches, from birthday bistros to tropical poolside dining, filmed in Australian homes.

According to the Brazilian fan news site Guia Disney+ Brasil, which cites BBC Studios, the season has 10 episodes, each about 5 to 8 minutes long. That makes it perfect for a short after-dinner watch or a quick treat before bed.

Good to Know: It Is Already Free Online

Here is a helpful tip for budget-minded families. Bluey Fancy Restaurant is not brand new. The official Bluey website first posted it on October 14, 2025, and says it can be watched on Bluey.TV and the official Bluey YouTube channel. The November 16 date is when it comes to Disney+, where many families already watch the main Bluey series.

Parents’ Guide

  • Official rating: We could not find a published rating for Bluey Fancy Restaurant itself. For reference, the main animated Bluey series is rated TV-Y (suitable for young children) on Disney+.
  • Format: Live-action, featuring real children and their parents, inspired by the animated show.
  • Romance: The whole point is a “date night” for married parents, so expect decorations, fancy menus and parents enjoying time together, all built around kids honoring Mom and Dad.
  • Language and violence: None mentioned in any listing we reviewed. As always, parents may want to preview an episode first.
  • Kitchen safety: Kids are shown as “chefs.” If your little ones want to copy them, keep knives, stoves and ovens in grown-up hands.
  • Best for: Preschool and early elementary kids, plus any parent who could use a night off from cooking.

Where to Watch

  • Disney+ (subscription): all episodes from Monday, November 16, 2026, in the US, per Disney’s schedule. Geektown lists the same date for Disney+ in the UK.
  • Bluey.TV and the official Bluey YouTube channel (free): available now, according to the official Bluey website.

Why Families Will Love It

So much of what children watch is about kids getting something. This show turns that around. Here, children are the ones serving. They plan, they set the table, they create a special moment for the two people who care for them every day.

There is something beautiful about children who notice that Mom and Dad need time together, and who want their parents’ marriage to feel special. A strong, loving marriage is one of the greatest gifts a child can have, and kids sense it more than we think.

“Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”
Proverbs 31:28 (KJV)

Try It at Your House

Why not let this show become a family project? Here are a few easy ideas:

  1. Write a menu. Let the kids draw it and name the “restaurant.”
  2. Keep the food simple. Sandwiches, fruit, cereal or a dessert a grown-up helps with all count as fine dining.
  3. Set the mood. A tablecloth, a flower from the yard and soft music go a long way.
  4. Practice manners. “Welcome,” “May I take your order?” and “Thank you” are great lessons in serving others.
  5. Single parent? Make it a “family appreciation dinner” for Mom, Dad, Grandma or a favorite caregiver.

In a busy season, a pretend restaurant at the kitchen table can become a real memory. And the smiles on the “customers” will be worth every spilled glass of juice.

Through every storm, we rise together.

If your kids ran a “fancy restaurant” for your family, what would be on the menu?
